Breastmilk on Board

October 25, 2006 by Amy Spangler

It appears you can transport an unlimited amount of breastmilk in the passenger cabin of an airplane as long as it’s stored in the mother’s breasts!

But if you don’t have a “baby on board” you will need to transport your milk in three ounce containers.

Many breastfeeding mothers for work related reasons, must travel without their baby.

As a result, mothers and health professionals are asking the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to reconsider their travel guidelines and allow mothers to carry larger amounts of expressed breastmilk on board airplanes.

You can lend your support by contacting the TSA and adding your name to list of those recommending a change in policy .
