Eco-Conscious Parents Go Green

May 1, 2007 by Amy Spangler | no questions or comments

If you’re an Eco-Conscious Parent, you’ll find the May/June issue of E Magazine a must-read. Brita Belli, managing editor of E and mother of five-month-old Elli, discusses everything from Diapers and no diapers (Elimination Communication) to organic food and nontoxic cleaners in an article titled “Natural Baby, Toxic World.”

Belli asserts that while eco-friendly options may be healthier, “science has yet to catch up with the onslaught of marketing that pushes parents to go green.”

“It’s possible that raising a natural baby and minimizing one’s impact on the Earth has less to do with buying products than choosing not to engage quite so enthusiastically in the consumer culture,” states Belli.

Belli shares her own personal experience as she discusses the benefits of attachment parenting, the battle to ban toxic toys, and food, glorious food.
