Just another infant feeding pillow?

Well, not exactly.

Distributed under the tradename, Cuddoozle, Naturally Norcott, Inc. offers an infant feeding pillow that reportedly combines comfort, cushioning, and cleanliness.

The infant feeding pillow consists of three layers of memory foam (a product of space age technology), a non-removable inner cover, and a removable outer cover. The removable outer cover is made out of custom fabrics, designed by Margaret Norcott who along with her husband Guy founded Naturally Norcott, Inc. in 2004.

On first inspection, I thought this was just another product in an already crowded market, however I was intrigued by the use of memory foam. I have two sons who sleep on Tempur-Pedic mattresses and testify to their comfort.

Apparently memory foam is temperature sensitive as well. When you lie down on a memory foam mattress or place your baby on a memory foam pillow, the memory foam responds to the change in temperature and softens. This allows the memory foam to conform to the shape of your body or your baby’s body providing comfort and support.

An added feature is the non-removable inner cover with hypoallergenic coating. The special coating protects against dust mites and molds, and also serves as a waterproof barrier, so poos, pees, and burps won’t stain the inner cover or penetrate the memory foam. I wasn’t able to access poo, pee or burp residue, so I substituted yellow mustard mixed with water! I’m a bit of a clean freak, and I’m pleased to report that the faux poop collected on the surface of the pillow. I waited several minutes before wiping it off and found no evidence of staining or penetration.
