Confused About SCHIP?
November 30, 2007 by Amy Spangler | no questions or comments
Congress will soon resume negotiations in an effort to reach a compromise on SCHIP. Prior negotiations have resulted in a lot of confusion over an already complex issue. In an effort to provide more clarity, CDF recently unveiled three new interactive tools that explain the current status of SCHIP and provide a context for recent legislative actions and their projected implications for children’s health care coverage.
The interactive tools include a SCHIP reauthorization timeline, a born uninsured counter, and a map of states projected to experience SCHIP shortfalls unless Congress increases funding. The CDF will continue to update these tools as negotiations proceed, so stay tuned!
