Soy is simply another type of protein (vegetable source rather than animal source). There is no evidence that soy intake during pregnancy negatively impacts unborn babies. There has been lots of misinformation about the plant estrogens found in soy, and whether they are safe during pregnancy. Again, there is no evidence to support avoidance of soy during pregnancy. Soy-based protein is used in artificial baby milk and is given to those babies who are unable to breastfeed or who react adversely to cow milk-based milks.

I am pregnant now and only drink soy milk. This is merely a taste preference and has nothing to do with religious or vegetarian beliefs. Does soy milk have a negative impact on babies in utero?
